Imaad works within a very loose and dynamic framework
Quite simply, anyone with an idea who has a passion to do something
for the community can launch a project under the Imaad banner. It is up
the individual as to how much support they would like to get from the
rest of the membership, to pitch for any funds if required or to ask for
any other help they might need.
As an umbrella organisation for these projects, Imaad provides the support,
infrastructure and finance with which to turn these ideas into reality.
We have no over-arching committee or chairman. All members have an equal
say - all they need to do is turn up to our regular monthly meetings.
The purpose of the meetings is to provide all other members with an update
on what is happening and for project leaders to ask for support and ideas
where desired. Most of the actual work takes place outside meetings where
it is up to project leaders to drive initiatives forward.
The core project areas within Imaad - Networking, Careers, Islamic Knowledge
and Education - each have project leaders assigned to them whose role
it is to lead these areas on an on-going basis, rather than for one-off
events. However, as with any other project, all are welcome to get involved.
All you need to do is contact the relevant project leader. At its heart,
Imaad is about empowering individuals to serve the community to raise
the position of the muslim community within society. We encourage you
to join us.
