Event Review
Alhamdulillah, the day began with a promising start, as the sun was out, and there was no forecast for rain. We had a great response from our members, and there were families from Bracknell, Farnborough, London and Reading, all turned up with their kids to help the Ridwans plant trees. Everyone brought their own spades and lunch, though there was lunch available at the farm as well.

Even though it was a chilly day, after some basic instructions the entire group was ready to give it a go. Kids, adults, everyone pitched in to plant the trees, which, thanks to the mud, was a great big messy job! The trees - oak, ash etc - are being planted throughout this month, and apart from their obvious environmental benefit, will inshaAllah in the future provide an ideal environment for the chickens, as they prefer woodland conditions to their current open spaces.

Willowbrook farm has come a long way since our last visit, about 5 months ago, and has made great visible progress. The barn is now up and running, which wasn’t even built then, and provides much better accommodation for the family. The automated chicken feeding system has been installed, saving them lots of precious time and effort. They have also acquired some sheep to add to their 'family' of hens and goats.

We would like to thank everyone who braved the weather to assist the Ridwans with this important task. We hope we and they can count on your continuing commitment, and may Allah bless you for your help.
