To discuss the nexus between culture and religion in the modern muslim
world and how this impacts some of the beliefs we hold.
Speakers
Ajmal Masroor from the Islamic Society of Britain.
Venue
The talk was held at Coffee Republic in Reading.
Event Review
The topic expanded to a talk on the influence of culture on the muslim
identity as well as including discussion on everyday practices that have
been adopted as innovations into the religion. The talk was held in the
informal setting of Coffee Republic, Reading. The young and vivacious
speaker was Brother Ajmal Masroor from the Islamic Society of Britain.
The evening was a great success with a large (55 people) and enthusiastic
audience listening to an inspiring talk, as well as an informed discussion
with questions and answers to follow. The event was organised in association
with the Reading University Islamic Society.
