1/ Preparation for
Marriage and Parenting
Aims
To discuss the main issues surrounding a successful Muslim marriage and
good Islamic parenting
Objectives
By the end of the course students should be able to:
1. List the main characteristics to look for in a future partner;
2. Explain the rights, duties and limits in a marriage;
3. Understand the components of a successful marriage;
4. Understand the importance of good parenting in Islam;
5. Appreciate the weight of choosing a good name;
6. Explain the importance of Education, Care and Tarbiyah in Islam;
7. Understand the limits between parents and children;
8. Discuss common problems in Muslim families.

2/ The Virtues of Knowledge and Etiquettes of Learning
Aim
To gain an understanding of the importance of knowledge in Islam and to
learn the etiquettes expected from the one who seeks this knowledge.
Objectives
By the end of the course students should be able to:
1. Know that seeking knowledge is an obligation on every individual;
2. State and explain some ayahs from the Quran about the importance of
gaining knowledge;
3. State and explain ahadith of the Prophet (peace be upon him) about
the status and rewards of the seeker of knowledge;
4. Understand the traditional manners and etiquettes of the student towards
their teacher, and the teacher towards their student;
5. Identify some tools that can be used to purify intention in regards
to seeking knowledge;
6. Discuss the importance to the knowledge seeker of having taqwa;
7. Understand our responsibilities to knowledge.

3/ All About Eve
Aim
To gain a true and accurate perception of women in Islam, to learn their
rights and responsibilities as Muslims, and to clear prevalent misunderstandings
w/ regards to women and society.
Objectives
By the end of the course students should be able to:
1. have a clear understanding of verses in the Qur'an relating to women;
2. have a clear understanding of Hadith relating to women;
3. know the status of women in Islam, as well as their treatment and role
in society;
4. understand fully the rights and responsibilities of women;
5. know the rights of both husband and wife;
6. identify the correct dress code for women;
7. understand issues surrounding marriage, e.g. khitbah & betrothal,
characteristics of the partner, requisites of marriage, the woman’s
permission and Wali, and how to find the right partner;
8. discuss society’s duty towards women.

4/ The White Heart Clinic (Purification of The Heart)
Aims
To develop an understanding of the spiritual states and traits of character,
and provide the means for the individual to assess and improve these in
themselves.
Objectives
By the end of the course students should be able to:
1. Understand the importance of the heart in Islam;
2. Have an overview of diseases of the hearts and its cures;
3. Discuss in depth the diseases of
a. hatred
b. heedlessness
c. infidelity
d. lying
e. pride
(including references to them in the Quran and Sunnah, their symptoms
and their diagnosis);
4. Give detailed explanations of the cures of these diseases.
