Event Review
The event was a highly informative and inspiring day of theory and practice
of Islamic Calligraphy. The first part of the day included a short lecture
on the history of Islamic calligraphy and an explanation of principles
of the art using examples of calligraphic art pieces and existing architecture
of Granada in Spain and Fez in Morocco.
The afternoon session included a practical illustration by Abu Mustafa
followed by the opportunity for participants to practically take part.
There was plenty of opportunity for participants to ask questions and
seek guidance from Abu Mustafa throughout the day. Based on the success
of this event we will look into the possibility of holding a detailed
course on Islamic calligraphy, possibly with further education colleges
in Reading.
