Islamic Art & Architecture Talk Profile of speaker, Sabiha-al-Khemir Sabiha al Khemir was born in Tunisia and now lives in London. She is an Islamic art historian, a novelist and a graphic artist. She obtained her M.A. (with distinction) and a PH.D. in the History of Islamic Art and Archaeology from the University of London and was a post-doctoral fellow at The University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She teaches Islamic art in the British Museum Diploma in Asian Art. Her
work in the field of Islamic Art has also included consultancy for the Her own art work has appeared in several publications; she fully illustrated 'Le Nuage Amoureux' (Paris, Maspero 1979) and 'The Island of Animals (London, Quartet Books, 1994). Her drawings have toured in several exhibitions including, 'Forces of Change' (U.S.A. 1994-95) and 'Dialogue of the Present' (U.K 1999-2000).
