education   projects

Education is the key to empowering our community and strengthening our position in today's society. If we are to make more significant contributions and have greater influence over those that govern us then we need the resources available to increase our knowledge about the issues which concern us.

For example,
many of us are troubled when we watch the news and witness tragedy in the Middle-East. And, at the same time, we often feel we lack the knowledge about the historical context of the Middle-Eastern crisis to engage in any real debate about this issue. (Watch this space for details on a seminar on the historical context of the current conflict coming soon) Imaad hopes to provide the forum through which issues such as these can be discussed in an open and dynamic environment. These will be facilitated through lectures and seminars given by guest speakers. Put simply, we aim to provide our members with the resources and knowledge to make more informed decisions and to enable them to more positively impact the issues that concern them.

The education facet of Imaad will cover a range of topics from the Middle Eastern conflict and the Kashmir issue to the recent terrorism act and how this affects our daily lives to architecture and economics. This is by no means an exhaustive list. Any further ideas for topics are always welcomed, so if there is something you would like to learn more about then let us know.
